Here is a little more food for thought when thinking about our listening skills.

Test Your Listening Habits -   from Michael Olivers Book -

Here is a short test that will give you an idea of your own Listening Habits  –

When you’re listening to someone :

1- Do you think of other things while you’re keeping track of the conversation  ?           Y —  N

2- Do you think about what you’re going to say next  ?   Y      N

3- Do you listen with the intent to reply rather than with the intent to understand ?        Y     N

4- Do you break in with your own ideas before the other person has finished talking ?     Y….N

5- Do you listen primarily to facts rather than ideas  ?        Y….N

6- Do you " tune out " to things that you feel will be too difficult to understand  ?            Y….N

7- Do you try to make it appear you’re paying attention when you’re not   ?                    Y….N

8- Do certain words or phrases prejudice you so that you don’t listen objectively  ?         Y….N

9- Do your thoughts turn to other things when you believe a speaker will have
nothing particularly interesting to say  ?          Y….N

    10- Do you finish other people’s sentences  ?      Y….N

11 Can you tell from a person’s  appearance and delivery that he/she won’t have
anything important to say  ?       Y….N

12- Are you distracted by outside sights and sounds  ?      Y….N

If you answered NO to all of these questions, you are one of a kind !
Good listening habits can be learned !

Thanks for attending.  YOUR participation makes these workshops effective.

Tom "Big Al" Schreiter is coming to town..to workshop:
"Do I really know how to get prospects to believe me and make a decision?"
For most distributors, the answer is: "No."
    And that is deadly.

Our job is to get prospects to make a decision to use our products and services, and to join our opportunity.

Yet, if we can’t explain or understand exactly how our prospects make a decision, what chance do we have? How can we do our job when we don’t even understand how this works?

    Can you answer these questions?

    1. Which part of the brain makes all of the decisions?

    2. Do you know how to talk directly to that part of the brain?

    3. How many seconds does it take for the prospect’s brain to make a final decision?

    4. Why does the prospect’s brain make automatic and final decisions – before you even mention your products and services?

    5. Which word sequences will instantly turn off the "salesman alarm" in your prospect’s brain?

    6. Why does the social proof connection to the survival program in our minds override every part of your presentation?

    7. What are the two sentences that will pre-close your prospect, before you even begin your presentation?

There are two types of distributors in the world:

    1. Those who know exactly how to close their prospects, before the presentation even begins, and

    2. Those who suffer years of frustration, rejection, and embarrassment because they don’t understand what is really going on when they give a presentation.

Make sure to bring your entire downline. They can’t wait to learn the simple skills to make "closing" simple, easy, and fun. This is your chance to quickly jump to a full-time income.

There is a small fee to attend this workshop (to help cover the cost of the meeting room.) Because seating is limited, please reserve your seat online now by RSVP’ing.

Normal fee is $20, but as a member of the Houston Network Marketing Meetup, your cost is $10 at the door (Cash or Check is fine).

Big Al doesn’t get here but a couple of times a year, so do not miss this!

Are you missing opportunities because you lack
just one simple skill – how to talk to people the way
    that’s important to THEM?

People generally fall into four easily recognized
categories or colors. If you want to be successful
in whatever venture you have chosen, you’d better
learn to speak to people in a language they understand.
If you are a Yellow, you may be intimidated by a Red
and have no idea of what to say. If you are a Green
talking to a Blue, you may be pulling out your hair
trying to get a word in edgewise!

To learn the basics (red, green, yellow, blue), and
how to speak any of their languages, please
    join us May 18th, 2010. We’ll have 4 presenters
giving you hands-on training you can walk away with
    and start using today.

The Houston Network Marketing Meetup group, where local Network Marketers come together to learn and share skills, not opportunities.. presents for the April 2010 Meetup:

    Tuesday April 27, 7pm-10pm
    Hotel Indigo
    5160 Hidalgo Street
    Houston, TX 77056

    Social media is great.

You can make contacts, build a list, create prospects and sponsor 24 hours a day. Social media never closes.
But is it worth the time playing "pen pal" with 1,000 friends?
Does anyone read your Twitter "tweets"?
We will concentrate on low-tech, easy-to-do ways to build your contacts and create a stronger relationship with your contacts.
No programming, no tech skills needed.
And wouldn’t it be great to have more of your contacts in your local area instead of in Bangladesh?
This workshop is three hours of hard-core tips and ways to make the time you invest in social media pay off faster and with better results.
There is a small fee to attend this workshop (to help cover the cost of the meeting room.) Because seating is limited, please be sure you are registered at the Meetup.com site and RSVP there for the discount of $10.00 –

If you are not a member of the Houston Network Marketing Meetup, the fee is $20.00

    See you there,

Professional Network Marketers know how important events and trainings are. We are thrilled to bring you Tom “Big Al” Schreiter to start the New Year off with a bang of new material for some and an excellent refresher for others.

Get your prospects to immediately accept and believe the good things you say.

    How?

By changing the sequence of your words.

Yes, it is that easy to place your information inside your prospects’ heads and have them believe instead of dis-believe.

We all know how frustrating it is when our prospects don’t believe us. Here is your chance to change that forever.

We will learn magic phrases and sentences that go immediately to the decision part of the prospects’ brains, and these phrases will pre-sell your prospects.

Imagine what it would be like to have your prospects agreeing, nodding their heads, smiling, and in total rapport with you and your message.

Start learning these magic phrases and sentences now, and put them to use within minutes of the workshop. You will be shocked and amazed at the new world awaiting you.

There is a small fee to attend this workshop (to help cover the cost of the meeting room.)  If you are a member of the Houston Network Marketing Meetup Group, the fee is $10, if not a member the fee is $20 per person.  Fees are collected at the door.

What a great event.  Tom "Big Al" Schreiter shared some killer 1st sentences for starting a conversation, starting a presentation, closing a presentation.

Here are some pictures from the event.

The next meetup has already been scheduled.  Mark Davis will be the guest.

In order to build a successful business, we’ve got to keep learning new skills.  The Houston Network Marketing Meetup Group is a great way to do that without being pitched on someone else’s ‘deal’.

See you at the next event.

Tom "Big Al" SchreiterBack by popular demand.

Prospects make an immediate decision based on the first sentence out of your mouth. If your first sentence is good, your prospect will look for reasons to join.

If your first sentence is bad … well, your prospects will look for reasons not to join.

Learn this important skill at the live workshop! There is a small fee to attend this workshop $20.00 (to help cover the cost of the meeting room.) If you are a member of the Houston Network Marketing Meetup Group (http://www.meetup.com… ), the cost will be $10 at the door.
