A BIG THANK YOU to Tom “Big Al” for inviting the meetup group (at a discount) to his “Super Closing” seminar. Big Al shared some great insights with everyone..Seems one of the many objections in Network Marketing is the question – “is this a pyramid scheme” …. Here is “Big Al’s” response.

I want to thank those who attended the Meetup last night and shared in the discussion on the great book, "The Slight Edge", by Jeff Olsen.
Though the results may not be immediately apparent, compounded over time, we either grow and go forward or we don’t. It is the little seemingly insignificant things we do daily that either propel us to success or propel us down the path to failure. It’s as easy to do as it is not do. The choice is ours.
Right click on this link to download the Daily Method of Operation chart that was provided to everyone at the meeting. By using this simple form daily, we can easily see the direction we are going. I want to thank Rob, the administrator, for sharing his success chart.
(If you click on the link, it should open up and then you can ’save as’. Either way should work. Same with the document below.)
Also there was some discussion after the official meeting about using social media sites to help build our businesses. Right click on this link to download an interesting article written by Annalaura Brown, "7 Ways You Can Grow Your Network Marketing Business With Facebook". This is excellent information and should be used with any social network you are using.
Look forward to seeing you at the next meetup. Pictures will be posted on the official meetup site.

Notes and Pics on the Nov 06, 2008 Meetup
Filed under: Notes; Tagged as: Houston Network Marketing Meetup Group, How to Get Rich Without Winning the Lottery, Keith SchreiterNo CommentsOn November 06, 2008, the Houston Network Marketing Meetup Group had the special
privilege of having a guest speaker, Keith Schreiter. Keith has, at this time, 17 years experience in Network Marketing (MLM), has traveled across all 7 continents, including Antarctica, AND is author of the book,
"How to Get Rich Without Winning the Lottery, Simple Methods to Get Rich, Retire Wealthy, and Have the Time of Your Life!"Keith shared with us how important it is to create a "Values List". He suggested we list our top 10 values in order of importance and then determine how our business can help us fulfill each value. Here is the list of 25 values that Keith shared with us that evening as an example. 1. Peace of Mind 14. A close relationship with God 2. Security 15. Friendships 3. Wealth 16. Retirement 4. Good Health 17. Contributing time, knowledge or money to others 5. A close relationship with spouse/mate 18. Knowing accomplished and successful people 6. A close relationship with children 19. Controlling my own business 7. A close relationship with parents or other family members 20. Overcoming all my problems 8. Meeting the ‘right’ person 21. Living to an old age 9. A Meaningful job or career 22. Personal Possessions – Cars, Jewelry, houses, etc. 10. Fame 23. Travel to exciting places 11. Power 24. A sense of accomplishment 12. Free time 25. Respect from others – being thought of as a good person 13. Happiness It was a great meetup and we were all able to interact with Keith and ask questions. He also spoke briefly about the ’system’ being KEY to success and that if that system isn’t working, we should find another. It just has to be duplicatable if we want our downline to be successful also.
Everyone received an autographed copy of his book and the 1st seven to arrive alsoreceived an autographed copy of one of Tom "Big Al" Schreiter’s books on Network
Marketing.
Here are pictures taken from the meetup.

We are very fortunate to have Keith willing to share his time with us and he agreed to come back for our second Meetup for November. We’ll get the details out as soon as possible.
Join the meetup – join the fun. Come, learn skills and enjoy the brainstorming that can help us all build our businesses!

Notes and Pics from the October 23, 2008 Meetup
Filed under: Notes; No CommentsThe Houston Network Marketing meetup group met on October 23 at Los Cucos in Kingwood. Topic of discussion was using word pictures to convey your message to your prospect rather than facts. Here are some notes from the session.
A long time a go in a galaxy far, far away, I was a manager at a Radio Shack store. One of the skills they taught us was to help a customer visualize. For example, a prospect was looking at a tv…I would hand the customer the remote and say something like, “imagine yourself sitting in your favorite chair, with your favorite beverage and you take this remote and turn on your brand new 32” tv to watch Star Wars…..” What does that do? It paints a picture in his or her mind, creates a sense of ownership that they don’t want to give up by giving the remote back. I closed a lot of sales with that technique.
We can use a similar technique in our home based businesses. When I say the words “Brad Pitt”, do you picture a scene from Oceans 11 or the Mexican, or do you see a letter B and an R? How about Miss Congeniality Sandra Bullock?
A picture is worth 1000 words….what is the RIGHT picture worth? After you make a presentation and your prospect says he wants to think about it, say something like, “will you do me a favor?” (Sure!) “Great! When you get your next paycheck, I want you to hold it between your thumb and forefinger, and hold it up the the light and ask yourself, is this all I am worth?” They may
think you are silly, but I am almost certain the next time they get a pay check, they will think about what you said, and they are more likely to call you back to talk more about your opportunity or even sign up. ~Rob and Shari Heinly
