Houston's Network Marketing NO "Pitch" Skills Training

Those who attended the Houston Network Marketing Meetup Thursday evening learned a valuable technique when ‘listening’ to others.

If you would like the notes Shari used during the presentation, click here and save to your computer.  Click here for a ‘completed color chart’.

Good questions to ask in helping you determine a person’s personality:

    1. What type of work do you do? What do you like best about it?

What do you like least about it?  G Y B R

    2. What is the most fun thing you do in your normal day?  G Y B R

    3. What would be your ideal way to earn a living?  G Y B R

    4. Tell me about your level of self-confidence? G Y B R

    5. Tell me about your closest friend. G Y B R

    6. Are you more of a people-person or are you more comfortable being by yourself?
    G Y B R

    7. Tell me how you make decisions? (What process do you go thru?) G Y B R

There are also other resources available that can help us go from learning that this ’secret language’ exists to near mastery.  However, as Tom “Big Al” Schreiter says, if you can get it right 50% of the time, that’s good too.

You might want to add this to your Network Marketing Skills library.

Learn the secret language of prospects, that INSTANTLY goes to their minds and to their hearts . . . so that you can say just a few sentences and your prospects will want to join!

There is also a 100 page E-Book available.  Contact Jennifer Fisher, for details.

Please note the Organizers do NOT receive any financial benefit from the sales of any skills tools from any source.

    Happy Networking !

    RESPECTFUL PROSPECTING

Unless you truly believe in your product or service, you aren’t going to be a good Prospector.

Some people don’t like the word Prospector because it creates visions of jumping out at people in the dark to get their attention long enough for you to tell them about your product.  But, a Prospector is just someone looking intently for something of value.  Your Prospect could turn out to be valuable to you if your approach is respectful and dignified.

If you approach someone in the first place, you obviously are of the assumption that whatever you’re offering will be of value to them.  So, keep it simple.  If you tell someone about a good restaurant you went to, do you call and read the menu to them?  If you see a good movie, do you call and read the script to them?  Of course not.  You just say that you ate the best steak you’ve ever put in your mouth and think they’d enjoy it too.  Or you say you saw a really funny movie and think they should go see it and have a good belly laugh.  Use this same strategy when prospecting.

For instance, you might say something like…"Prospect, I’ve been taking XYZ  Supplements for two weeks and I threw away my glasses yesterday.  You might want to try them and see if they help you too."

    Then you drop it.

Hand them a business card or give them the website address or a sample with your contact information on it.  Then change the subject.  If they’re interested in knowing more, they’ll start asking questions. If they’re afraid to ask questions for fear of getting trapped in a 3-hour conversation, you’ve given them the option of looking at your information on the sly and making a decision before they approach you about it.   If they aren’t interested in knowing more, you’ve salvaged a friendship.

If they should start asking questions, just answer that particular question.  Don’t go into the history of the company and the scientific data behind the product’s creation, etc.  And don’t give them answers to questions they haven’t asked yet!  You most likely don’t have all the answers, so you’ll just stir up a whole can of worms and make yourself and your company look slimy.  They’ll eventually get all the information they need.  Why do you think we spend 12 years in school?  We need time to absorb what we’ve taken in to make room for more.

    Basic strategies:

    •  Don’t exaggerate.  People don’t like to be tricked.  Besides, your product should speak for itself, so you shouldn’t have a need to enhance it.

    •  Don’t try to skirt around the issue or deliberately leave out information about the product, company or marketing plan that you think the Prospect might not like.  They will find out eventually.  Re-read that last sentence.  Who’s going to look bad?  Who’s going to be the big loser in the game of manipulation?  I’ll cheat and give you the answer…it’s not the Prospect.

    •  Don’t manipulate people for short term gain.  It leads to long term pain.  Mainly for you because nobody will ever listen to you again.

    •  Don’t try to make the sale at any cost.  It gives the Network Marketing Industry  a bad name.  It’s best to wait until the Prospect is comfortable with their decision rather than push them into something you may both regret.

    A few thoughts to ponder…

    *  Tell a Prospect and they’ll forget.

    *  Show a Prospect and they just might remember.

    *  Involve a Prospect in a comfortable conversation and they’ll understand."

Mentoring is not about teaching people.  It’s about helping them to understand and learn. It’s an on-going relationship that encourages the learning process.

    When:  June 11, 2009
Where: Monterey’s Tex Mex Cafe , 12520 Greenspoint Dr, Houston, TX 77060

What: Learn the Language of your Prospects

Most successful Network Marketers know you have to talk to people in order for them to either be interested in your product(s) and/or services or your business opportunity. However, what most don’t realize is that if you say the same thing to four different prospective clients, it’s very likely you will get four different reactions.

Join us May 21, for a more in depth study of the 4 primary personality types. Come and learn how to spot different personalities, what their main interests are, how best to tailor your offering to their ‘hot spots’ and how to determine a person’s personality before you even speak to them.

If you are in any type of business, this information will be of benefit to you and your entire organization.

As you know, these Meetups are all generic. So bring your friends and business partners.

Join us at 6:30 for dinner.  The meeting will start promptly at 7:00 PM.

Bring the most guests and receive a free CD Set from Tom "Big Al" Schreiter’s Collection.  Visit the Meetup group to RSVP and to get the location.

Thanks to everyone who attended the Meetup on May 28th, 2009.  We had a great workshop talking about the Secret Language of our Prospects and after wards got to test what we had learned on each other.  If you haven’t made it to one of the meetups yet, I strongly encourage you to come out.

If you’re not a member of the Houston Network Marketing Meetup Group yet, we’re a Generic group of Network Marketers, all in our own companies, so we don’t come together to pitch each other our deal.  However, we all understand the importance of learning new skills and keeping those we already know tuned up.

So, if this interests you, then click on the logo on the right side of the page and join.  It’s free!

… including "How to get 300+ prospects listening to you."tomBigAL

Tip #1: "How to speak the secret language of your prospects."
The most fun of the 25 skills I teach. Here is a free mini-course
    that you can enjoy now.
    http://www.fortunenow.com/products/item13.cfm
Tip #2: How not to be a leader.
Here is the message I heard on my worthless sponsor’s answering
    machine:
“Thanks for calling and remember this call costs $3.95 for the
first minute, and 95 cents a minute thereafter.”
Okay, that’s bad, but what does your voice mail or
answering machine message say? Is it uplifting? Inspiring?
Tip #3: Want to know when a "live" Big Al Workshop is
    near you?
One way to make sure the workshop is near you is to
invite me to your area. Just drop me an email at:
